REDFORD (WWJ) -- Redford Township police have arrested a man suspected of killing someone and wounding another during a shooting.

The alleged gunman was arrested earlier today on Redford Columbia Street, near Schoolcraft Road. Police did not release any other details about the suspect or any possible motives.

WWJ’s Charlie Langton reported that an argument at the Warwick Village Mobile Home Park at Joy Road and Telegraph escalated into gunfire around 2:30 Thursday morning,

Both victims were males in their 20s. One man died from his injuries and the other is in critical condition.

While police are searching for the suspect, one resident of Warwick Village, a man named Joe, tells WWJ he knew both victims and he knows who the killer is.

He identified the victim who was killed as a man named Hector.

“I’ve known him, I respected him, I would’ve done anything for him. He would’ve done anything for you or any stranger. And he’s not here no more,” Joe told WWJ’s Charlie Langton.

Joe says the suspect lives in the park and took off after the shooting. He claims the man is on parole after serving a long prison sentence for murder.

“First of all, I never liked the damn guy. He’s a stone-cold killer. Some people are just wired that way,” he said.

Police are still investigating what may have led to the shooting and where the suspect fled to. Authorities have not released any details about the suspect.
