Early morning shootout at motel shakes east side; police take four into custody

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police officers are trying to determine the cause of shots fired at the Cabana Motel early Tuesday morning.

WWJ's Mike Campbell is at the scene on Harper Ave. near Conner St. in on the city's eastside. Authorities confirmed several shots were fired earlier this morning.

Heavy police presence could been seen from I-94, which slowed traffic moving westbound.

Officers said four people were taken into custody and one person was taken into the Detroit Detention Center.

No injuries were reported.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing; no other details were released by authorities.
