(WWJ) It won't be this week, but expect to see some flakes fall early on in November in metro Detroit.
After a fairly warm October, AccuWeather forecasters are calling for the first snow of the season in Southeast Michigan within the next couple of weeks...as temperatures drop.

"It actually looks like November is going to start on a colder than average start as we head into next week, and perhaps the second week of November as well." said AccuWeather Meteorologist John Feerick.
"I wouldn't be surprised as well if some of the first snowflake of the season, maybe next week or the week after," he said. "It definitely looks like we've got some colder air on the way, at least for the first half of the month. Certainly the second half of the month, that's a little more up in the air. But it does feel like it's gonna be a lot more and a lot more like November as we head into next week."
Meanwhile, the next couple of days will be on the wet and chilly side, Feerick said, with chilly rain in the forecast both Friday and Michigan v. Michigan State Game Day on Saturday. "It's not going to be great, but it's not going to be the worst we've seen," he said. "I do think there's going to be some rain and drizzle out there Friday night into Saturday morning."
Feerick said it looks like things might dry off in time for kickoff at noon.
Moving on to Oct. 31, there is some good news about Halloween.
"It looks really nice on Sunday," Feerick said. "We'll have some sunshine in the afternoon. We're up near 60, so as the kids head out to trick-or-treat, it's probably going to be still in the 50s in the evening, probably falls back in to the 40s ... But it should be dry, and really about what you'd expect, if not even a little bit better for a Halloween weather-wise."
