School administrators learned around 11 a.m. Monday someone had written “I will shoot this school up today” in a first-floor girl’s bathroom.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office tells WWJ law enforcement officials were going room-to-room inside the school searching for weapons, but so far, none had been found.
Students were being held in classrooms while authorities searched.
It’s a similar scene to last Tuesday, when the school was placed on lockdown after a threat was found written inside a second-floor bathroom. That message, which was later deemed to be not credible, said “gonna shoot up the school today.”
A few weeks prior, South Lyon East High School was locked down due to a threat. While it was also deemed to be not credible, a teen is facing charges for the incident, which prompted an increased police presence at the school the rest of the week.
