(CLINTON TWP) -- A two-car collision resulted in the death of a young man, now identified as a 2022 Dakota High School graduate.

Around 5 p.m. Sunday, Clinton Township Police were dispatched to Cass Ave at Halsey Blvd, located between Romeo Plank and Heydenreich.

According to officers, two cars -- a gray sedan and a black sedan -- had collided.

The incident closed Cass Ave for several hours Sunday evening as first responders worked to get the people involved out of their vehicles.

Police later confirmed one fatality.

Friends have now identified the deceased as Keegan Reed, a talented local athlete who graduated from Dakota High School this past spring.

A candle-light vigil is being held in Keegan's memory at the Clinton Macomb Public Library tonight.

The crash is still under investigation. What caused the crash, as well as the identities and current condition of any other drivers or passengers, remains unknown.
