
(WWJ) The Michigan State Police Monroe Post is asking for help from the public to track down an auto theft suspect, and a stolen car.
Just after 2 p.m. Thursday, a resident on Whiteford Center Road in Ottawa Lake, an an unincorporated community within Whiteford Township, heard commotion outside his home.
He looked out, police said, in time to see an man stealing his neighbor's car: a silver 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.


Police said the victim returned home to find someone had broke into his detached garage, and the car was gone.
The suspect, who remained at large on Friday, is described as thin-built man wearing dark colored pants, a light gray hooded sweatshirt, black shoes, and a dark colored beanie hat.
The vehicle had a registration plate of UZG273 and was last seen headed south on Whiteford Center Road.
Anyone who can identify the suspect from an image and video released by police, or who had any information is asked to call MSP Trooper Jordan Thoma at 734-242-3500.
