(WWJ) – After a brief court hearing on Wednesday, a Judge said there will be an in-person hearing next month to determine whether accused Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley will remain in the Oakland County Jail or be moved to a juvenile facility.
Crumbley’s representatives have requested he be moved to Children’s Village in Pontiac, and the judge has set a date of Feb. 22 to make that determination.
During Wednesday’s hearing, the Judge also told both the defense and prosecution they will need to submit briefs to the court by next week regarding media coverage of the case, including when there is sensitive information to be placed on the record.
Crumbley, is being charged as an adult and is facing a total of 24 counts, including terrorism and murder, for the Nov. 30 shooting that claimed the lives of four Oxford High School students – 14, year-old Hana St. Juliana, 16-year-old Tate Myre, 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin and 17-year-old Justin Shilling.
The teen is also facing several counts of attempted murder and weapons charges. His parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, have been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
