(WWJ) -- An annual list of the Most Dangerous Intersections in Michigan is being revealed, and nearly all of them are in metro Detroit.
Michigan Auto Law says the intersection at 18 1/2 Mile and Van Dyke in Sterling Heights -- which is a roundabout -- tops the list, with 131 crashes.
That's followed by 11 Mile and Van Dyke in Warren, which had 124 total crashes over the last year.
Other dangerous intersections in metro Detroit include Schoolcraft and Telegraph in Redford Township, Orchard Lake and 14 Mile in Farmington Hills, and 12 Mile and I-94 in Roseville.
As the COVID-19 pandemic showed a significant decrease in traffic volumes in 2020, total crashes were down 21.9% from 2019, and at their lowest level since 2010, according to data from the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center.
Additionally, crash-related injuries also dropped 18.6% from 2019 to 2020, though there was a sharp increase in deaths.
Overall, 2020 saw 1,084 traffic fatalities - the highest number since 2007.
