(WWJ) Phoebe, 14, is one of the survivors of the Oxford High School shooting.

On their GoFundMe page, her family said she was one of the first people shot when the suspected shooter opened fire on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 30. She was struck in the neck and chest.

“Thankfully, a friend kept Phoebe out of harm's way, holding her, praying with her, and putting compressions on Phoebe's wounds to stop the bleeding until paramedics could arrive,” the page reads.

According to her family, Phoebe had to undergo surgery and was placed on a ventilator until she stabilized. She has since come off of it.

“Through it all, her mom says Phoebe ‘has been the strongest, bravest, most epic human. She is a fighter,’” the page reads.

Friday’s update depicted Phoebe making significant strides in her recovery. Her family said she sat up, did laps around the pediatric unit; and made it through “a big day” thanks to the help of a team of nurses, psychologists, and doctors.

On Sunday, her mother said she had been released from the hospital.

"My sweet baby is HOME," she wrote with four red heart emojis on the GoFundMe. "GOD IS GOOD. OUR COMMUNITY IS AMAZING. lots of love to you all!"

A GoFundMe Page has been set up to help the family offset what will surely be astronomical costs associated with her recovery. DONATE HERE.
