Detroit Police looking for suspect caught on camera in Metropolitan West Village burglary [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Does anyone recognize this person?

The Detroit Police Department is asking for tips from the public as it investigates a crime last week in the city's West Village neighborhood.

The DPD's 7th Precinct released surveillance video showing a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary at Metropolitan West Village, a Kitchen & Bar and variety store in the 8000 block of Agnes St., near Van Dyke.

Police said the man seen in the footage broke into the business and stole merchandise, a little before 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 24.

Seen in the video, a man in a brown leather jacket and bright orange cap strolls in through lobby before he lays down on the floor and grabs hold of a metal gate. The man is able to bend the gate, then sliding his way underneath.

No details were released about exactly what was taken.
