(WWJ) -- A $1,000 cash reward is up for grabs for anyone who can provide police tips regarding a failed robbery attempt at an Oakland County gun store early Tuesday morning.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to Huron Valley Guns -- located at 56477 Grand River Avenue in New Hudson -- after an alarm went off at the store around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies showed up to the location to find a concrete block had been thrown through a window on a roll-up garage door that provides access to the business’s dining area.

Three suspects are seen on surveillance video arriving at the store around 1:23 a.m. in a gray Jeep that had no license plate. A passenger in a blue jacket, mask and gloves got out of the jeep and check to see if the front door of the building was locked, before returning to the Jeep.

That’s when the driver of the Jeep drove it across the lawn and backed it up to the garage door at the rear of the building, where the three suspects -- two dressed in blue jackets and the third in a black jacket -- and entered the building after one of them broke the window with the concrete block.

The suspects then went through the dining area and tried to enter the store showroom, but were unable to break the entry door window.

The suspects quickly left the building and drove away in the Jeep.

The business owner reported that nothing was stolen in the failed robbery attempt.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard said instances such as Tuesday’s break-in invariably result in more serious crimes. He urged the public to contact the Sheriff’s Office or local police if they have any information about the break-in.

“Obviously, individuals that are organized and breaking into a firearms store have very bad intentions of how those weapons ultimately will be used,” Bouchard said. “These are precisely the kinds of guns that end up being involved in crimes, including homicides. We really need the public’s help to catch these individuals before they are successful in another attempt.”

Anyone with information about the break-in is urged to call Detective Jared Rutkowski at 248-437-5600 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest.
