(WWJ) -- We'll be waiting a little bit longer for the alleged Oxford High School shooter's trial...
The trial date for suspected Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley has been pushed back until next January from its original September date.
During a monthly update this morning, Crumbley's defense attorney said there is a massive amount of evidence to look over before the trial and she asked that the September trial be delayed.
"The discovery is extremely voluminous," said defense attorney Paulette Michelle. "A September trial date does not seem realistic based on the volume of the discovery and things that need to be explored prior to that trial date."
The judge agreed with the defense and set the new trial date for January 17, 2023.
"Defense is still working its way through the discovery therefore we will adjourn the trial date."
Crumbley is charged with murder, attempted murder and terrorism in the November 30 shooting that left four students dead and seven others wounded. He faces life in prison if convicted.
