FREEDOM TWP. (WWJ) – A horse is home safe and sound, thanks to Michigan State Police in Washtenaw County.

MSP officials say they got a call on Saturday that a horse had gotten loose and was looking for her way home.

Trooper Herrst from the Brighton post found the horse near Waters Road in Freedom Township and provided an escort home.

It’s not clear where the horse escaped from or how it got out, but officials say the horse is safe.

Photos posted to the MSP First District Twitter page show the brown and white horse, named Lucy, next to an MSP patrol car and a trooper walking her up to a barn.
