AccuWeather meteorologist Dean Devore said most of the region was expected to see about 1-2 inches of accumulation.

The majority of the metro Detroit area began seeing the snow fly around 3:30 p.m. While the snow had mostly subsided by evening, it continued to fall lightly in some areas as of 8:30 p.m.

Drivers headed home on their evening commutes dealt with icy conditions in some areas.

“Roads will be likely slushy to slippery, and then the snow could mix over to some sleet and then some light rain and drizzle as temperatures will settle out within a few degrees of freezing,” Devore explained.
