ROMULUS (WWJ) A freeway crash in Romulus has left four people, including two small children, hospitalized.
Michigan State Police say a woman, 25, was driving a 2008 Nissan on eastbound I-94 near Merriman when she lost control of the car and struck a signpost around midnight Saturday.
A child, 2, was unconscious when troopers came to the scene. State police said troopers performed CPR on the little one until paramedics arrived.
The child and the woman were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
A passenger who was riding in front seat, and a seven-month-old baby in the backseat, are both in serious condition.
State Police said the car seats were not properly used.
She was driving over 100 miles per hour, according to State Police. It's not clear if she was the mother of or related to the children. The investigation will include vehicle inspection, car seat inspection, and a prosecutor review.
