Two Macomb County men are facing charges connected to the infamous riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

Court documents from federal court in Detroit say Daniel Herendeen of Chesterfield Township was arrested on a warrant for entering the U.S. Capitol without lawful authority, obstructing justice and/or Congress, aiding and abetting and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Robert Schornak, 39, of Roseville faces similar charges. He was also arrested today.

Three other men from Michigan have been charged in the riots.

The criminal complaints have been sealed and no additional details were available early Thursday, however The Detroit News reported a post on Schornak’s Facebook account complained about the November presidential election being "stolen" and includes video of volunteers counting ballots at the TCF Center in Detroit.

Another post called Gov. Gretchen Whitmer a “stark raving mad power crazed murderous governor” and accused her of jeopardizing those in nursing homes during the pandemic.
