DETROIT (WWJ) -- This story is no bull. If you've seen a man riding a cow around Detroit, say hello to the urban cowboy and his heifer.
In a video that's now gone viral, a man is seen riding a cow through the BP gas station parking lot on Seven Mile Rd. and I-75 on Sunday night.
The video was taken by an account named Brad Showboat and posted to Facebook as well as sharing it with FOX 2.
It may have come across as a strange sight for some Detroiters who were filling up their gas tanks — but it's totally normal for the locals.
The mystery cowboy, 73-year-old Will, and the heifer, 2-year-old Hope, are both from the 15-acre Pingree Farms on Seven Mile.
The owner of the largest urban farm in the city, Jim Green, said there's an easy explanation: The cow just needed a walk!
Green said that Will used to ride another cow before Hope, but after the cow was put down, the urban cowboy said "Alright, well I gotta ride something."
And here we are.
According to Green, since the farm is industrial property, the City of Detroit has allowed Pingree Farms to keep their cows and other animals on site.
