PLYMOUTH, Mich. (WWJ) – A hockey game that was suspended due to an apparent bomb threat Saturday night in Plymouth picked up where it left off on Sunday afternoon.

Michigan State Police and local authorities were called to USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth during the USA National Team Development Program’s game against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for what the team described as a "security risk."

MSP said in a tweet they were investigating a bomb threat. As the game was suspended and the arena was evacuated, an MSP canine unit completed a thorough sweep of the building on Beck Road.

Authorities determined it was safe to reopen and there was no risk to the players or fans.

Officials have not released any details about what prompted the security scare.

The game resumed at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the previously scheduled game at 4 p.m. is slated to go on as planned.
