UTICA (WWJ) -- A man reported missing and endangered in Macomb County has been found, and is doing OK, after spending the night outdoors the the frigid cold.

Police said Ndue Rrukaj, 72, left home for a routine walk around 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, from the 45000 block of Keding Street in Utica, near M-59 and the Van Dyke Freeway.

When he did not return, police reached out to the public for help to find the man who'd only recently moved to the U.S., and only speaks Albanian.

Updating the case later in the morning on Friday, police said Rrukaj was located in a neighboring community where he'd slept outside all night.

He wasn't well dressed for the weather — in only a shirt, pants and waist-length jacket — but police told WWJ's Mike Campbell that Rrukaj is alright.

"In 10 degree or less weather, because it's 10 degrees now on the news truck," Campbell reported. "He was found, I'm told, in Shelby (Township). And the officer who told me that said he's OK. He's 'one tough dude' is how it was described."

No further details were released.
