EASTPOINTE (WWJ) -- A dust up at an Eastpointe house party put one person in the hospital after the homeowner discovered his watch missing and searched his guests, prompting one reveler to pull out a gun and open fire.

According to WWJ's Charlie Langton, who reported from the scene, police were called to a home on Normandy St. in the area of Nine Mile and Gratiot, around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

Officers said the owner of the house believed his watch had been stolen and that he attempted to search the partygoers. During that time, a fight started outside the residence.

A CPL holder drew his weapon and fired twenty shots, at least one of which struck another man in the leg. The shooter claimed he was defending himself, while the victim was taken to a local hospital.

Several of the shots went into or through two vehicles that were parked by the house.

At least two suspects were arrested, and law enforcement continues to investigate.
