DETROIT (WWJ) – Two people are in police custody after a wild scene caught on camera in Detroit shows a crash, apparently sparked by road rage.
Detroit police tweeted a video Tuesday afternoon showing the crash, in the 18900 block of Woodward Avenue – near 7 Mile Road – around 1 p.m. Monday.
Authorities did not release many details about the crash, but said it was captured by Project Green Light cameras after “an incident between two drivers.”
Officers responded quickly and took both drivers into custody.
The video shows a red pickup truck go the wrong way down Woodward and slam into a white sedan. The truck rolls over and crashes into a brick wall, while the sedan spins around after trying to avoid the collision.
The video appears to show the white car make a U-turn on Woodward after making a turn from a different intersection. Shortly after the car made the initial turn, the truck is seen making a move to go the wrong way down Woodward.
Officials say the incident remains under investigation and are encouraging anyone who finds themselves in a road rage situation to call 911 or go to a police station.
