A Wayne County woman says she's looking forward to spending more time with her husband after winning $25,000 a year for life playing the Michigan Lottery's Lucky for Life game.

Diane Newman of New Boston matched five white balls drawn on Dec. 21 -- 03-32-35-38-40 -- to capture the big prize. “I used to buy Lottery tickets for my husband and I, but since he retired, he’s been buying them,” Newman told the Michigan Lottery. “We like to play a little bit of everything together."

She bought her winning ticket at the Circle K gas station on Monroe Street in Carleton, just north of Monroe and a tad south of downriver.

Newman said she and her husband checked her ticket the morning after the drawing and couldn't believe they had won.

In lieu of weekly drawings, she chose to collect her winnings in one lump sum of about $390,000.

So, what's next for the newly comfortable for life? She says she'll share her winnings with family and go on a nice vacation.
