DETROIT (WWJ) The North American International Detroit Auto Show is making its triumphant return for the first time since the winter of 2019, and its the first year you won’t need your snow boots and earmuffs to get to it.
Rather than being contained to Huntington Place (formerly known as Cobo Hall)—it will be spread out throughout downtown Detroit. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan painted the picture while speaking live to WWJ:
“You’re going to have Monster Trucks crushing cars in Hart Plaza, you’re going to have outdoor driving experiences, and the restaurants…are going to benefit,” he told WWJ’s Jackie Paige and Tony Ortiz.
Not to mention the World’s Largest Rubber Duck (stationed in Hart Plaza), which measures 8,000 pounds and six stories tall, smiling down at the Motor City’s skyline!
“There’s more room,” Mayor Duggan said. “Lots of demonstrations…you’re going to see demonstrations of flying cars, which are happening down on Washington Boulevard.”
