(WWJ) -- Does it feel like there have been more tornadoes in Michigan lately? Well, there haven't been.

But what we have seen is an increase in severe thunderstorms, which can cause just as much damage.

The summer of 2021 was one of the most active summers in terms of severe weather in Metro Detroit, with major thunderstorms and flooding events causing big problems for many communities.

WWJ's Zach Clark looked at the local fallout from an uptick in severe weather, and what's behind it in this edition of The Daily J.
