ST. CLAIR COUNTY (WWJ) -- It was a scary scene out on the water on Thursday afternoon in St. Clair County as Marine deputies were called in for a rescue.
Deputies tell WWJ’s Sandra McNeil that situation happened in Fisher's Bay near Clay Township.
A 55-year-old woman was out on her jet boat when she noticed some reeds stuck underneath. She reached underneath to pull them away, and her hand became stuck in the grate.
The woman was trapped under the boat, with her friends attempting to shift if up in intervals so she could breath.
Marine deputies came in with some oxygen until they could successfully free her hand.
The woman was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
