DETROIT (WWJ) – A woman was sent to the hospital Monday night after being run over by a pedal bar in downtown Detroit.
The woman’s condition was not clear Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened near Comerica Park, along Montcalm between Woodward and Brush, according to a report from WDIV in Detroit.
Officials said the woman, believed to be in her mid-20s, became separated from The Michigan Pedaler, fell underneath it and was run over.
The extent of her injuries was not known, but WDIV reported the woman was alert as she was put into an ambulance.
Police are investigating the incident and were talking to other riders who were on the pedal bar to get more information.
The Michigan Pedaler is one of several pedal bar services that run downtown. Up to 15 riders bring their own drinks and ride around the city.
