DETROIT (WWJ) – An investigation is underway on Detroit’s west side after a woman’s body was found in a field.
Detroit police officers were called to a field on Whitney Street, near Linwood and W. Grand Boulevard shortly before noon Sunday after someone found the woman dead.
Officials tell WWJ the woman, listed as a Jane Doe, was found naked. Officials did not say how old the woman is believed to be.
Authorities have not determined a cause or manner of death, though it was reported police were investigating it as a homicide. Officials did not tell WWJ whether it was believed foul play was involved in her death.
