CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A 25-year-old has been charged with three counts of weapons and trespassing charges after he was arrested for scaling a fence and trespassing on a military base in Harrison Township.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office announced the charges against Ypsilanti native Curtis Cunningham on Tuesday; Cunningham was arraigned in Clinton Township on the following three counts:

• Count 1: Weapons – Carrying Concealed

• Count 2: Weapons – Pistols, Carrying Concealed While Under the Influence

• Count 3: Trespass

Cunningham was arraigned on June 9 and was given $10,000 personal bond after he was arrested the previous day for allegedly trespassing on Selfridge Air National Guard base while intoxicated and carrying an unloaded firearm.

Officials with the MCSO said they were first called to the base in Harrison Township around 6 a.m. June 8 after they received calls about a trespassing complaint.

When deputies arrived at the base, military personnel turned over Cunningham, who was under the influence, but uninjured.

Officials said Cunningham told investigators that he was the passenger in a car and got out on the side of the road after getting into a verbal argument with the driver.

Cunningham told police he was not sure of where he was, but saw lights coming from Selfridge and began walking toward them before jumping a fence to find shelter.

He was found on Selfridge by base security and was held at the Macomb County Jail.
