Could there be another Trump-Pence ticket in 2024?

Yet another wrinkle has been thrown into former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, as his former Vice President Mike Pence seemed intrigued by a possible reunion during a recent interview.

Pence made an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” discussing potential candidate matchups in the 2024 presidential election and who could be running for the Republicans.

While discussing the next election, Pence was asked if there would ever be a scenario in which the ticket once again said Pence-Trump. The former vice president chuckled, saying, “Almost anything can happen.”

“But I will tell you, we’ll — we’ll sort out what our role, what our calling is. But it — you know me well enough to know, we’re going to — we’re going to pray all the way through it, and, uh, we’ll go where we’re called,” Pence said.

The comments from Pence come after he appeared to distance himself from the former president last month, saying Trump was to blame for the Jan. 6 riots while recounting the event with ABC News.

“I turned to my daughter who was standing nearby and said, 'It doesn't take courage to break the law, it takes courage to uphold the law,” Pence said. “I mean, the president's words were reckless. It was clear he decided to be part of the problem.”

Many have already spoken out against Trump’s decision to announce his campaign as early as he did, but Pence shared last month that he doesn’t think he will go unchallenged in the Republican party.

“I think that’s up to the American people. But I think we’ll have better choices in the future. People in this country actually get along pretty well once you get out of politics,” Pence said in November. “And I think they want to see their national leaders start to reflect that same, that same compassion and generosity of spirit. And I think, so in the days ahead, I think there will be better choices.”

But now the script could be changing, as Pence recalled his time serving in office and what he and Trump had accomplished.

“I truly do believe that the American people want to get back to the policies of the Trump-Pence administration, of less taxes, less regulation, more American energy, secure borders, a strong military, standing tall in the world, standing with our allies, standing up to our enemies,” Pence said to Fox News.

He continued, saying that he hears from Americans that want “leadership that could unite our country around our highest ideals, including civility and respect.”
