Former Trump attorney John Eastman, who became known for his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, continued to push the narrative on Tuesday while turning himself over to Fulton County officials in Georgia.

Eastman is being tried alongside Trump and 17 others in their efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state. Still, Eastman remained steadfast in his beliefs that the election was “stolen.”

While speaking to a crowd of reporters, Eastman was asked if he still thought the 2020 election was stolen, to which he said, “Absolutely. No question. No question about it.”

Eastman refused to answer questions about whether he had a mugshot and fingerprints taken while inside the Fulton County courthouse or if he would attempt to seek immunity from prosecution.

While defendants have until Friday to turn themselves in, only two of the 19 charged have done so already. Eastman was the second.

“I am here today to surrender to an indictment that should never have been brought,” Eastman said in a statement later posted to his attorneys’ website. “It represents a crossing of the Rubicon for our country, implicating the fundamental First Amendment right to petition the government for redress of grievances.”

After turning himself over and being processed at the Fulton County jail, he was released on a $100,000 bond.

Eastman is facing nine charges connected to District Attorney Fani Willis’ investigation into the attempted overturning of election results.

Among the charges are conspiring to commit false statements, writings, and forgery, and state Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act charges. He is also accused of being the designer of a legal strategy to try and overturn the 2020 election, which he also helped push. The plan included the use of fake electors in battleground states.

The former President shared on Monday that he plans to turn himself in on Thursday, according to a post on TurthSocial.

“Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History,” Trump wrote.

Trump went on to try and downplay the charges that are being brought against him by Willis, saying that he didn’t kill anyone and only made a phone call.

“In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for ‘Murder,’ but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL! She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ,” Trump posted. “It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”

Thursday is also the first day of the 2024 GOP presidential nominee debate, which Trump will not be attending.
