Mississippi authorities are investigating a fatal incident that occurred in the overnight hours Thursday along Highway 16 in Yazoo County.
Robert Hamil, 27, was changing a flat tire when he was struck by a Ford Focus and killed, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
“Helping others was a strong trait of Robert, no matter the need or size of the job,” his obituary read. “The day after the tornado struck Rolling Fork, Robert and Lexie [his wife] loaded up construction equipment. They worked and assisted those in need for 16 hours to aid others.”
Hamil leaves behind two young daughters.
So far, no other information has been released regarding the deadly collision.
