An attorney for the former president expects prosecutors to slap Donald Trump’s real estate company with criminal charges as early as next week, according to people who briefed NBC News.

The case centers on allegations of corporate tax evasion.

“It looks like they are going to come down with charges against the company and that is completely outrageous," Trump attorney Ron Fischetti told NBC.

The news of potential charges was first reported by the New York Times.

Trump’s lawyer said "the corporate office will plead not guilty and we will make an immediate motion to dismiss the case against the corporation,” describing their next move after a Zoom meeting with prosecutors.

The company’s longtime financial chief Allen Weisselberg also potentially faces charges, the Times said.
