One California resident is over $2 billion richer.

The single winning ticket for Monday night’s Powerball lottery drawing was sold Joe's Service Center on Woodbury Road in Altadena, just outside of Los Angeles, lottery officials announced.

The ticket matched all six numbers ---10, 33, 41, 47, 56, and Powerball number 10.

The jackpot was a record $1.9 billion but grew to $2.04 billion by the time of the drawing -- making it the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.

The winner may choose to receive their prize as an annuity paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment of $997.6 million before taxes.

California wasn't the only place that scored some wins. Lottery officials said 22 tickets sold across the country matched five numbers, but missed the Powerball, to win $1 million. Those tickets were sold in California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Washington.

One ticket sold in Florida also matched five numbers with the Power Play option, which doubled their winnings to $2 million.

The winning numbers were announced Tuesday morning after a technical glitch delayed Monday night’s drawing. Officials said the drawing was delayed due to a participating lottery "needing extra time to complete the required security protocols."

On Tuesday, Minnesota Lottery officials confirmed it was to blame for the holdup, saying the state's processing systems were slowed by higher sales which caused a processing delay.

No tickets had been sold matching all six numbers since Aug. 3. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
