The Tigers promised Detroit sports legends would throw out the ceremonial first pitches on Opening Day at Comerica Park, and they more than delivered.

First out of the Tigers' dugout was Pistons Hall of Famer Ben Wallace. Crowd roars. Followed by Lions Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson. Crowd roars louder. Followed by Red Wings Hall of Famer Nicklas Lidstrom. Crowd roars loudest of all.

And then the three of them, standing side by side in front of the mound, waved a future Hall of Famer out of the Tigers dugout: Miguel Cabrera. Crowd tries not to cry.

And then the four of them, in unison, rang in the 2023 baseball season in Detroit and the final season of Cabrera's career.

On the receiving end of each pitch: Tarik Skubal (from Wallace), Casey Mize (from Johnson), Matthew Boyd (from Lidstrom) and Eduardo Rodriguez (from Cabrera).
