What should have been a great night on a football field Sunday night wound up being freighting instead.
According to TMZ.com around 6 p.m. Sunday night, youth football was taking place in the Detroit Police Athletic League when gun shots were fired.
TMZ continued to say, "Officials say three males -- aging from 14 to 15 years old -- were shot in the melee ... but somehow, officials added none of the children in the area were struck by bullets.
"Very unfortunate and unnecessary situation when you've got people using gunfire to resolve whatever disputes that they are having," said Detroit Police Department's James White, who added the three teenagers were transported to a local hospital and are currently in stable condition.
