This week’s home finale for #6 LSU may find the Tigers getting a break from the rough-and-tumble SEC schedule. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy as they welcome one of the nation’s leading rushers into Death Valley.
UAB running back DeWayne McBride has racked up 156.3 yards per game – the best mark in college football. McBride also ranks second in the country in total yards (1,407) and touchdowns (17).
And he didn’t even play in the Blazers’ season opener.
“They have one of the best running backs in the country in DeWayne McBride,” coach Brian Kelly said on Monday. “He has over 1,400 yards rushing. Very accomplished on offense.”
One positive in the Tigers’ favor: McBride only notched three of his school record 17 scores away from home.
After their matchup with 5-5 UAB, LSU will close out their regular season on the road next week at Texas A&M, then head to Atlanta for an SEC Championship Game showdown with #1 Georgia.
Kickoff between LSU and UAB is set for 8 p.m., and you can hear the game on WWL.
