LSU needed the transfer portal to fill its depleted wide receiver room. On Tuesday night, six-foot-four, 220-pound Nic Anderson signed with LSU. He’s considered one of the top receivers in the transfer portal even though he didn’t catch a pass in 2024.

Anderson had a huge freshman season at Oklahoma, catching 38 passes for 798 yards and ten touchdowns, a school record for a freshman. That’s 21 yards a reception.

He’s six-foot-four, 220 pounds and is a fluid runner.

But Anderson missed the first three games with an injury, appeared in only five games in Tennessee and never saw the field again. It was described as a serious quad injury.

If Anderson can stay healthy, Anderson is expected to be a big part of LSU’s passing game in 2025. The Katy, Texas, native also battled injuries in his true freshman season in 2022.

Anderson is the third receiver to sign with LSU out of transfer portal. The speedy Barion Brown from Kentucky was the first to sign. And then former Edna Karr star Destyn Hill.

Hill caught six passes in 2023, but he didn’t play in 2024 because of an injury.

When looking ahead to 2025, LSU’s top four receivers look to be Anderson. Brown, Chris Hilton and Aaron Anderson.
