It's still more than a year down the road, but LSU football is kicking off the 2024 season on the road with a big showdown against USC, and we now know when exactly that will be.
The Tigers and Trojans will face off on Sept. 1, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. (central), news that was announced by ESPN on Tuesday.

It will be just the third all-time meeting between the schools and the first time since 1984 at the Coliseum in Los Angeles, a game LSU won 23-3. USC defeated the Tigers 17-12 in Baton Rouge in their only other meeting in 1975.
LSU hopes it will enter that game fresh off another SEC Championship (maybe even College Football Playoff) season, with the team set to begin the second year of the Brian Kelly era against Florida State in Orlando.
LSU has also moved a scheduled game with Rice from 2024 to the 2029 season, according to a report from The Advocate, to accommodate the planned 9-game conference schedule with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. The Tigers will also have non-conference games against UCLA and South Alabama in 2024.
