There's no hiding for LSU baseball: They're the top ranked team in the nation and will have a target on their backs as Southeastern Conference play approaches.
At 13-1 with the lone loss being the front end of a doubleheader against Omaha, the Tigers have delivered. Chris Gordy, host of Locked on SEC, joined Mike Detillier on WWL this week to break down exactly what makes this team so dangerous.
"I saw the top of that lineup from [Derek] Curiel, [Jared] Jones, [Daniel] Dickinson, [Josh] Pierson, [Steven] Milam … I think it’ll be hard to find a better top five in all of baseball than those guys," Gordy said.

That was clear to see this week when they went down 7-1 against North Dakota State only to rally for an 11-9 win. Where the Tigers need to improve is on the mound, with the team led by young and developing starters that should get better as the season wears on.
"That’s the hope, that these guys mature very quickly, but you can’t not like what you’ve seen so far," Gordy continued. "Even last night you get roughed up and you don’t look great, but they’ve got the firepower, they’ve got the bats to dig themselves out of it and still come away with a win. “
LSU is back in action on Friday when they host North Alabama at Alex Box Stadium, and they'll kick off SEC play with a visit from Missouri a week later.
