Kim Mulkey didn't wait until she was courtside in the Final Four to draw questions about her ensemble, she walked into her post-game press conference wearing a cowboy hat.

Her answer was simple when asked if there was a story behind it: They were handing them out. The event is in Dallas, after all. She also would've taken cowboy boots, she said, but those weren't available. Then Mulkey broke into song.

"you know, I love country music and I just thought it was appropriate," she said. "I was going to come in here and sing ‘All my exes live in Texas.’ I only have one, though. I’ve only been married in once. But then I’m gonna end it with this: ‘I’m the happiest girl in the whole USA.’ Who sang that?"

The answer: Donna Fargo, which ESPN's M.A. Voepel correctly relayed. An excited Mulkey yelled, 'Bang, you tell 'em Voepel,' before attempting to walk off. She was then reminded there'd be one more question and begrudgingly sat back down to field one more from the gathered media.

It was a lighthearted moment at the end of a nearly 40-minute press conference as her team prepares for its first Final Four trip since she returned to Louisiana nearly 2 years ago. As she pointed out, she technically only has one "ex" in Texas, unless you count the Baylor program she took to four Final Fours during an illustrious career in Waco.

Her team now turns to No. 1 seed Virginia Tech, whom the Tigers will face off with at 6 p.m. Friday in the American Airlines Center. Not a single member of her young Tigers squad has previously been to a Final Four.

“I’m the only one in our locker room that has done this," Mulkey said, "but I’m not going to shoot, dribble, pass, guard, any of them. So it’s not a matter of what I have done."
