The Southeastern Conference told LSU fans what they already knew on Monday: Sophomore Dylan Crews is the best player in the SEC, or at least one of them.

The Tigers outfielder was named co-SEC Player of the Year, the conference announced, alongside Auburn first baseman Sonny DiChiara. Crews was the first LSU player to win the award in a decade, with Raph Rhymes the last to win it back in the 2012 season.

Crews has been dominant in Year 2, hitting .345, with a conference leading 76 hits and 21 home runs, the most round-trippers by a Tigers player since Ryan Schimpf hit 22 in 2009. In total Crews logged 67 RBIs with 63 runs scored.

Crews was also named SEC Co-Player of the Week on May 9 after a series at Alabama, going 7-for-11 with a double, three home runs and 7 RBI total.

LSU will hope Crews can continue his offensive brilliance as the SEC Tournament kicks off this week, with the Tigers set to debut on Wednesday in Hoover, Alabama against the winner of the 5-12 matchup between Auburn and Kentucky.
