LSU baseball's NCAA regional foes have been announced; see full road to Omaha

One of the eight roads to the College World Series will, again, be coming through LSU and Alex Box Stadium, and we now know the teams that will be competing with the Tigers to get there.

The Tigers landed a bit lower than they probably would have liked, landed at No. 6 overall, with four of the teams ahead of them out of the SEC.

Here's how the top 8 broke down:
- 1. Vandy (42-16)
- 2. Texas (42-12)
- 3. Arkansas (43-13)
- 4. Auburn (38-18)
- 5. North Carolina (42-12)
- 6. LSU (43-14)
- 7. Georgia (42-15)
- 8. Oregon State (41-12-1)

So who lands in the Tigers' slice of the bracket?

- 6. LSU (1) ... 43-14 (19-11 SEC)
- Little Rock (4) ... 24-32 (8-16 OVC)
- Rhode Island (3) ... 38-20 (22-8 A-10)
- Dallas Baptist (2) ... 40-16 (21-6 C-USA)

The Tigers will first face off with Little Rock. The winner of that game will face the winner between Rhode Island and Dallas Baptist. The other two teams will battle to see which squad can come out of the loser's bracket in the double-elimination format.

They'll be paired with the Clemson regional, meaning if they advance they'll host whoever comes out of that foursome. If the Tigers don't advance, the Super Regional host will be the highest remaining seed.

That group includes:
- 11. Clemson (1) ... 44-16 (18-12 ACC)
- USC Upstate (4) ... 36-23 (19-5 Big South)
- Kentucky (3) ... 29-24 (13-17 SEC)
- West Virginia (2) ... 41-14 (19-9 Big 12)

The result is a positive one for the Tigers, with the team finishing third in the SEC with a record of 43-13 (19-11 SEC) despite being ranked No. 1 overall to close out the regular season in multiple polls. The Tigers took down Texas A&M in their SEC Tournament opener but were shut out by Ole Miss in the semifinals.

This year marks the 28th time LSU has hosted a regional and the third time in the last four years. Should the Tigers advance and host a Super Regional, that would mark the 13th time the Supers have arrived in Baton Rouge and the second time in the past three years.

The regional will kick off at Alex Box Stadium on Friday, May 30. "All session" standing room tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Wednesday, while individual game tickets for Games 1-6 can be purchased beginning at 9 a.m. Friday morning. Tickets can be found and purchased at LSUtix.net.
