the second time in the NCAA Regionals, the LSU Tigers came from behind to beat the Wofford Terriers to advance in the tournament.
This time, LSU recovered from a 5-0 first-inning deficit and beat Wofford 13-6.
The Tigers cut their deficit to 5-3 by the fourth inning, but Wofford got one of those runs back in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-3 lead into the fifth inning.
That’s when LSU’s bats came alive.
Josh Pierson blasted a two-run home run to start the Tigers’ rally. LSU played another run later in the frame to tie the game at 6-6. Later, the Tigers tacked on eight more runs across the final three innings to pull away from the Terriers.
LSU will now play North Carolina in a rematch of Saturday’s contest. That game is set for 5 p.m. on WWL. The pregame show is set for 4:30.
If LSU wins, they will play North Carolina again tomorrow in a winner-take-all final game. If North Carolina wins on Sunday, they will eliminate LSU and advance to the super regionals.
