The SEC announced on Sunday that LSU was fined $250,000 for violating the league’s access to the competition area policy.

The $250,000 matches the same fine LSU received earlier this season for the same exact reason after fans stormed the field following a win over Ole Miss.

It’s the school’s fourth such violation of the offense, which begins with a $50,000 fine and reaches $250,000 for the third time and beyond.

All fines for violating the access to competition area policy go toward the EC Post-Graduate Scholarship Fund.

Surely, the Tigers will be happy to pay such a fine this time around, as the win puts them in first place in the SEC West — positioning LSU for a potential trip to the SEC title game and College Football Playoff berth as dreams of a national championship are starting to seem more realistic.
