LSU announced Wednesday that it hired Carolina Panthers quarterbacks coach Jake Peetz as the Tigers new offensive coordinator.

Peetz was a member of first-year head coach Matt Rhule’s staff along with former LSU assistant Joe Brady.

Peetz has coached both quarterbacks and running backs the past two seasons in Carolina and has had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2008-12), Washington Football Team (2014) and the then Oakland Raiders (2015-17) during his 10-year NFL career.

In 2018, he served as an offensive analyst at Alabama.

Peetz began his coaching at Santa Barbara City College (2006) and UCLA (2007) after playing defensive back at Nebraska from 2003-05.

His first NFL opportunity came in 2012 as offensive assistant/assistant quarterbacks coach for Jacksonville.
