LSU baseball is a top 16 seed for the 2023 NCAA Tournament, which means they'll get to stay right at home.

The NCAA announced the 16-team slate Sunday evening.

The full NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed after 11 a.m. Monday morning, with the Selection Show airing live on ESPN2. The order of the top 16 seeds will be announced then, with the top 8 guaranteed to serve as Super Regional hosts if they advance.

Half of the regionals will be hosted by SEC programs.

The top 16 seeds (in alphabetical order) include:
- Auburn
- LSU
- Virginia
- Clemson
- South Carolina
- Coastal Carolina
- Miami
- Arkansas
- Florida
- Kentucky
- Vanderbilt
- Stanford
- Oklahoma State
- Indiana State
- Alabama
- Wake Forest

LSU will be hosting a regional for the 27th time in program history, but its first since 2019.

The next question to answer will be the three opposing teams heading to Baton Rouge, along with full matchups and times for the weekend's games. The regional round will run Friday-Monday, June 2-5. Super Regionals will begin the following weekend. It's possible there will be one or more Louisiana schools that arrive in Baton Rouge, with Nicholls State and Tulane already punching their tickets. The Green Wave would bring a remarkable story along with them, running through the AAC Tournament for a win and automatic bid after a 19-40 regular season.

Playing host to the regional games will be a significant advantage for the Tigers, a team that spent the first 12 weeks ranked atop college baseball before a bit of a late-season swoon. LSU is 7-7 over its last 14 games, which included back-to-back 5-4 losses to Arkansas and Texas A&M at the SEC Tournament.
