Harlem Berry has one of the best names in high school football, he’s also the best player in the state.

Berry is the Gatorade High School Football Player of the Year for 2024.

It caps off a big week for the four-star prospect, who signed his National letter of Intent with LSU on Wednesday.

Berry had a sensational season for St. Martin’s High School as he rushed for 2,178 and 41 touchdowns, averaging close to 13 yards a carry.

He also played on defense for the 9-and-3 Saints, recording 25 tackles and three forced fumbles.

On special teams, Berry also blocked a kick.

According to on3.com, Berry is ranked as the top running back in the country.

He is five-foot-11, 175 pounds and has speed to go along with his elusive moves and power. Berry ran 100 meters in 10.76 last spring.

For his career at St. Martin’s, he rushed for 8,571 yards and 132 touchdowns.

Berry put St. Martin’s on the map when it comes to Louisiana High School Football. He led the Saints to their first semifinal appearance in 2022.

And give him credit, he had opportunities to play at another high school, but stayed at St. Martin’s.

He also remained committed to signing with LSU, despite lucrative NIL packages from other schools.
