Everything was going right for LSU at the best possible time, but catcher Alex Milazzo suffered a nasty-looking injury as he scampered home for the Tigers' 10th run.
Milazzo was sent home on a Cade Beloso single to right field, and ended up having to leap over Florida catcher BT Riopelle. He landed with his left leg stiff on home plate and immediately went down in pain.
Milazzo was carried off the field and received a standing ovation from Tigers fans in attendance, of which there were many. Hayden Travinski took over behind the plate. Milazzo was seen being helped back to LSU's bench in the bottom of the 5th while wearing a walking boot on his injured leg.
The injury is a fractured shin, according to a report from WAFB, and won't require surgery.
LSU led 10-2 after Milazzo's run, a massive advantage in a winner-take-all Game 3 of the CWS title series.
