LSU's Reese picked for Team USA

The accolades and opportunities continue to pile up for LSU’s Angel Reese.

The Tigers’ basketball star has earned a spot on America’s national team to compete at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.

Reese is one of eight women with spots locked down on the team, which will eventually consist of 12 players.

Tiger transfer Aneesah Morrow has also been invited to the team’s training camp to compete for one of the four remaining roster spots.

The tournament, which features teams from the Americas vying for the title, will take place July 1-9 in León, Mexico.

LSU’s Angel Reese was one of eight players selected late Sunday night to Team USA and will compete in the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup July 1-9 in León, Mexico.

The final roster will consist of 12 players and Aneesah Morrow is among five players that will be invited to training camp to compete for the final roster spots. Training camp will begin on June 22 in Colorado Springs.

The draw to determine two five-team preliminary groups for the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup was held May 10. The United States will face Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Venezuela as part of Group A.
