LSU’s matchup with Missouri was moved to Faurot Field in Columbia, Mo. as Hurricane Delta makes its way to the Gulf Coast. The game will start at 11 a.m. Saturday but was originally set to kick off at 8 p.m. in Baton Rouge.

Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said the move was made for health and safety of both Mizzou and LSU players and that he’s just happy the game will still be able to be played, considering the number of reasons a game could be canceled including the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s 2020, obviously, nothing is predictable,” he said. “(We're) excited about the opportunity to play this week. I think any opportunity to play college football game in this season and this environment is awesome.”

Drinkwitz also expressed concern for those that could wind up in the storm’s path.

“Thoughts and prayers with everybody along the Gulf Coast as they prepare for this storm,” he said. “I know it’s a challenging time for those in the path but just wish them the best as they’re preparing for what lies ahead.”

Like LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, Drinkwitz also said he was pleased the teams were able to move up the game’s start time.

“I’m just so glad and thankful that we were able to move the game up to 11 o’clock so that those guys can get home safely — so that there going to be able to get back and land hopefully during daylight so that if there was no electricity, that they would be safe,” Drinkwitz said.
